Technical Head, IT & Cloud Infrastructure

Job description

The Technical Head is a key role that bridges the organisation with its clients on technical matters. This role demands comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in the latest IT infrastructure developments, Cloud technology, security protocols, payment industry protocols, and the intricacies of client-server relationships. As the Technical Head, you will be executing pre-established architectural designs and plans, integrating our solutions seamlessly into client platforms such as banking and payment systems, and ensuring ongoing enhancements of these systems. You will also act as the Single Point Of Contact (SPOC) with our clients’ technical teams on implementation projects and interfaces. Managing relationships with our technical suppliers and service providers, maintaining service levels, and preparing concise and clear reports for management are also key parts of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and manage the company’s technology strategy with a comprehensive understanding of the latest IT infrastructure, Cloud technology, security protocols, and payment industry protocols.
  • Implement system design and architectural plans, integrating our solutions seamlessly into various client platforms.
  • Continuously update and enhance platforms and systems to align with evolving industry trends and company objectives.
  • Act as the Single Point Of Contact (SPOC) with clients’ technical teams for the implementation of projects and interfaces.
  • Lead the technology team, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing, Business Development, and Operations teams to effectively deliver new products and enhancements.
  • Manage relationships with the company’s technical suppliers and service providers, ensuring service level agreements are met.
  • Regularly assess technical risks and opportunities within the industry and the organisation, providing solutions and recommendations.
  • Manage the technology department’s annual budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Prepare and present clear, concise reports to management on technical execution, enhancements, and risks.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications would be an advantage.
  • At least 10 years of hands-on experience in the technology field, including leadership roles and delivering on technical projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of the latest IT infrastructure trends, security protocols, and payment industry protocols.
  • PCI DSS certification know-how and prior experience would be added value.
  • Conversant in Cloud infrastructure including but not limited to provision Virtualisation, Hypervisor and containers on Azure and AWS clouds or similar.
  • Proven experience in executing system design and architectural plans, integrating solutions into client platforms such as banking and payment platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience acting as a SPOC with clients’ technical teams for the implementation of projects and interfaces.
  • Proven track record in managing relationships with technical suppliers and service providers, ensuring high service levels.
  • Strong understanding of the client-server relationship and experience with cross-platform connectivity and dependencies.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex technical information in a clear and understandable manner to a non-technical audience.
  • Relevant industry certifications are highly desirable.
  • Executed projects and prior experience references are expected.
